Our Story
Where Our Passion for Education was Born
“If a Child Can’t Learn the Way We Teach, Maybe We Should Teach The Way They Learn”
Teaching students study techniques, how they like to learn, sets them up for success! We work with students to develop study strategies and organizational skills, improve grades, prepare for exams, and build confidence in a fun and welcoming environment.
VICI Learning was born from a simple yet powerful belief: every child can thrive academically when given personalized support tailored to their unique needs.
Our founder, Sara Alhowar, began her journey in education in 2010 as a volunteer Educational Assistant at her local high school. From there, she became a peer tutor at university, worked in both small community-based learning centres and larger organizations, and tutored privately for families across the community.
Along the way, Sara noticed a gap — while many students have access to learning support, too many still fall through the cracks. Students who think, learn, or express themselves differently often go without the personalized help they need to succeed.
VICI Learning was created to change that. More than a tutoring centre, we’re an advocate for inclusive, equitable education that meets students where they are and helps them grow into confident, capable learners.

Our Community Involvement
Student-centered, individualized learning. These private sessions are perfect for students who excel one-on-one, and could use additional coaching and the undivided attention of one of our talented tutors.
This service includes more assessments and focused time on the students' individual learning needs and style. Private sessions also require regular check-ins on student performance and their work at home to ensure effectiveness.
Step 1
The student is assessed and evaluated by a team member and matched with the right tutor for their needs.
Step 2
Private sessions begin and the client receives post-session reports that include additional resources and instructions.
Step 3
The tutor works with the student to create a personalized plan which they will review on a monthly basis.
